At the turn of the year, a round-table meeting took place in Bangalore. Three of us sat down, brainstormed and came up with 10 new years resolutions.
I’ve pinned that list up and everytime I look at it, more than the resolutions themselves, I remember the moment we exchanged papers, signed and dated as witnesses on each others lists. I feel committed and responsible to work towards these goals.
I-contemplate was a project I began a few years back with the intention of creating a space for myself and others to express what goes on in our heads.
These last 16 months in India have seen me “contemplate” more than I ever have before. New people, places, projects and experiences I have lived.
In that light and drawing motivation from a few people around me I’ve decided to revive this blog and take my contemplation a step further. Firstly, and keeping with my primary aim, I plan to transfer the thoughts from my head onto this site on a more regular basis. Secondly, I hope to work towards transforming some of these thoughts into action. It is said that life happens at the level of events, not merely of words. So here stands the birth of a new aim for I-contemplate. One which I hope will turn part of the words I and others put down into something realizable.
As I woke up today I thought to myself, let me write about the need to continue writing. Whilst contemplating about this, my reflections seemed to have paved the way to something completely new.
I guess this is what letting your thoughts flow is really all about.. you may start at one place and end up somewhere completely different. No signatures this time around to hold me accountable to these words. Instead, I make every reader of this piece a witness.
Let us see where this takes us..
