"I run for my lungs, I run for my heart, I run for sexy calves, I run for fresh air, I run to organize my thoughts, I run to race, I run to get away, I run in the morning, I run at night, I run from pain to PRs, I run for goals, I run alone, I run in company, I run to move forward, I run to be in the moment, I run for the cute shoes that hide my beat up feet, I run to sweat, I run to sweat, I run for iced coffee, I run for peanut butter, I run trails, I run roads. I run on good days and I run through the rough ones.
I run to be the strongest version of me". (Hillary, 2011).
"I run for..."
This movement started from simple conversations with friends and is now shaping up to be a reality. The idea is to take a step beyond ourselves and think: What/who else would I like to acknowledge and applaud.
This is not a fundraiser. We aren't promoting any one organization or any particular cause. Instead, we firstly promote thought: Who/what would I want to run for? and then, expression/visibility: A tshirt to run with which states what this is.
Considering the Bangalore Midnight Marathon is around the corner (14th of December!), what better time than now to get the ball rolling?
The plan? For all those register for the race (http://midnightmarathon.in/ - 5k, 10k, 21k and 40k options available) and want to be part of this movement, we shall be ordering personalized dry-fit sizeable tshirts. Cost is 280-300 rupees (tshirt + print) - all orders need to be in by the 15th of November. Please do get in touch if any of this interests you.
As an aside, would be nice to know what everyone would run for so feel free to share below. I'll get this started with my own motivation for this particular race.
I run for.. my parents.
What/who do you run for?
